Experienced Counsellor & Psychotherapist in Leeds
I trained to be a therapist following a career change. I had been aiming to redirect my career into a more fulfilling direction for a few years before starting training.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy (Distinction). I also have an Honours degree in Philosophy. I have work experience in housing, alcohol support, social prescribing, and I have a previous life as a performance manager. I have a calm and reassuring presence, and a warm and caring nature.
I am curious about people and I gain a lot of satisfaction from helping my clients unravel and resolve their difficulties and adversities. I have my own experience of attending therapy so I understand how helpful it can be when life throws us challenges.
I believe that many of the difficulties we encounter in life are very often related to problems in our interpersonal relationships, past or present. This might be in the family, with a partner, or at work. Sometimes, it's our relationship with ourselves which becomes difficult. Sometimes it’s issues from our past which are causing problems in our present.
When I am not working I enjoy cooking, walking, music, books and films.
I live in Leeds with my partner and our cat.
